There were 17,240 households in temporary accommodation at 31 March 2025, 6% higher than March 2024 and the highest since 2002. This is 57% above the 2019 baseline.The pandemic drove increases of 7% between 2019–2020 and 16% between 2020–2021, and numbers have continued to rise annually since, due to a combination of other factors.
